Vodafone today announced a number of senior management changes, caused by the intention of Group CFO, Andy Halford to leave the Group at the end of March 2014, after the conclusion of Vodafone's transaction with Verizon Communications Inc. His replacement will be Nick Read, currently Chief Executive of the Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region, having previously been CFO of Vodafone UK, before being promoted as its Chief Executive.
Nick Read will be succeeded as Chief Executive of AMAP by Serpil Timuray currently Chief Executive of Turkey.
If you have a sufficiently deep management bench (as Vodafone undoubtedly has), this is the way to handle management change.
